I have two inst360s on my bike and while the battery drops a little faster, they still work just fine. My Garmin computer, on the other hand, says "Naaaah" under 15 degrees when it's out there too long (like 15 minutes and it just shivers, awards me for being a better gadget than it is, shuts off).

yah I get it. I'm riding SPDs on my MTBs I can't think of many offroad conditions where pedal lights like this would matter much. I'm generally thinking about commuting visablity.

Not sure what you mean by proper but they offer these with 'screw spikes' like MTB flats or SPD clipless as well

Seems like a neat idea. DJI's new motor allows remote motion sense and lock. So if your bike starts moving without you (stolen!), you can lock the motor/crank from your phone. -At least that's how I'm reading it.
