I have a Trek Fetch +2 and I also experience this. It is the motor cutting out when it gets the limit set by the dealer. It doesn’t limit your speed but without the pedal assist, it just feels slower.

I have 8,000 miles on my Fetch 2. I love it! I ordered it sight unseen after some car problems. I had planned on getting the Fetch 4 but my LBS talked me down to the Fetch 2. I have nothing to compare it to as never ridden a cargo, nor long tail nor electric bike before getting my Fetch. I...

My LBS knows I can’t bring my bike in my car and can’t be without it so they work with me for service. The emergency service I have needed have been small and quick so they take care of me as soon as possible.
