Let's start a discussion about the baby car seat adapter and compatible car seats. Car seat brands tend to refresh their models with slightly different names and designs at least every year, which means the list of compatible car seats for the adapter is bound to become dated.
I recently bought the Maxi Cosi Mico Luxe to try using with the adapter. After putting the seat in crooked (easy to do while the rain cover is on) I found I was unable to "release" the one side of the seat from the adapter. It turns out that the "release" button was on the back of the seat, but based on how I had seen other Maxi Cosi seats work with the adapter I assume it was released with buttons on the side. After fussing with the car seat and the buttons on the side (which only controls the position of the handle) for several minutes, I managed to remove the seat from the adapter... only to find that I also managed to break the piece that holds the seat in place
That's what I get for not reading directions!
I tried putting the seat in the adapter again and was able to get it to click in place on the other side (with the right side now broken and unable to click). So the upshot of my efforts is that the Maxi Cosi Mico Luxe does fit, with the slight reservation that the position of the release lever makes it a little difficult to install and remove with the rain cover on.
I returned the Maxi Cosi Mixo Luxe and planning to get the Maxi Cosi Mico XP Max, which is a little pricier but I've read elsewhere DOES work, and it also has the release button on the front of the seat which should be easier to access. I will update here to let you know if this seat works out.
If you live close enough to a baby supply store with different car seat models in stock, I might recommend seeing if you can't just ride the Urban Arrow to the shop and asking if you can't test seats out so you don't need to fuss with online returns. Alternatively, you might be able to buy some of the older models that we know are compatible used on the cheap if you don't mind chancing the safety of a used car seat (probably a little less of a concern when using in a bike vs a car).
