My urban arrow is shy of 1000 miles and I got as humanly close as possible to using every MM of my brake pads. Way too close

Don’t forget to check them, friends!

Can you recommend a preferred pad/compound for the Magura MT5? I just picked up some replacements from a local shop and boy howdy are they loud compared to the factory pads.

A lot of people go for the Magura 8P pads as replacement.

I had a set of Galfer purple "eBike" compound, they were noisy even in the dry but worked really well. My kid always commented that he could hear me coming from streets away :ROFLMAO:

Now trying out Frictive metal pads, noise levels similar to the original pads and perform just as good as the Galfers. Seems to be only available in AU/NZ though.

The Galfer purples are the ones I got! Awful noise. I checked my installation and caliper alignment three times after installing them, blaming myself.

Yeah I was constantly cleaning my rotors but the noise would always come back after a couple of rides. The squeal was horrendous in the rain but they still worked as good as in the dry so I kept them on.

We've seen so much of this - and worse - that we implemented a little service sticker regime to try and remind our cargo bike customers to come in for check ups more regularly than

Do you know if they gave you the same compound? Also, were they bedding in properly?

After buying the GSD, I ordered a set of brake pads and 3 chains(*). I didn't want to be left searching for parts when the time comes.

(*) I'll need 1.5 chain lengths, so I got enough length for 2 chain swaps
