The bike is looks like an amazing deal with a Bosch Cargo Line motor, hydraulic brakes, and lockable storage. And they’re even made in the US.
Great guys and great bikes. You just don't hear about them much, because they sell primarily B2B.

Anyone know if they’re going out of business (like Cero)?

I talked to them last year, and my understanding is that it was inventory surplus made for a large client, that for whatever reason didn't end up working out, and they are just trying to clear it out. I think the company is doing just fine.

Thanks for the info.

Propel still has a demo model of this bike listed for $4595 (which seemed like a deal given the MSRP).

I’d been looking at these as a potential bike for municipal public works folks to use around town. I didn’t get any buy-in due to the price tag. (I had looked at Urban Arrow’s Tender when they were piloting that with Saris, but during the pandemic everyone I had been talking to at Saris got laid off.)

Coaster hasn’t posted on any of their social media in over a year, which is usually a bad sign about a company’s health. Hopefully they’re just focused elsewhere.

I just talked to the owners. Confirmed this is just a one-time sale of some excess stock.

The company is doing just fine, and is focused on some other things that I won't share here.

Get that amazing $1999 bike while you can... what a deal.

One more bit of info:

Sale ends tomorrow. This weekend goes up to $2999.

They still have four of them on their eBay store at the $1999 plus shipping ($500+):
