Need a safe place to park that cargo bike? Bikehangars are now available in the US!

Don’t have a driveway? Some cities are looking into doing residential pilots, but they really need to hear from constituents that the need is there.

Those look great but were $10K+ each when I inquired and they didn't have a model long enough for a bakfiets or long tail.

Do you know any US towns or cities where they have been successfully installed & operated?

This one is called the "Mini Bikehanger" and there idea is for this product to be a direct to customer product, whereas they've thus far primarily focused on larger storage units for commercial and government applications.

Website here, but no pricing listed: https://cyclehoop.us/product/mini-bikehangar/

My concern about this "Mini" version, is that I'm not sure it would hold a front-load trike, but needs to be confirmed. It holds that Bullit in the OP, but I don't know that a trike would fit in that corner as well.

In any case, at the price they have told me it might cost (can't say, due to confidentiality agreement I have with them)... I don't know that it's the best option for consumers. Especially when you could buy something like this 8x10 riding lawn mower shed from home depot for $1400. Given @Haulin Oats profile pic... I assume they are affiliated and could provide specifics.

I will say though, from testing, that these things are VERY beefy and if security is your #1 concern, it's about as secure as it gets. It's an extremely well made product. Like, if you need a unit out on the street or something, this would get the job done.

University of Minnesota has one.
I asked my rep to push our campus to put one in, since they are saving $$$ by me never parking a car on campus, but he didn't get anywhere.

I also asked for a free burrito at lunchtime from the campus cafe on the days that I biked in...
maybe put a prox reader inside the BikeHangar to log "attendance" :) . But, alas, no burrito.
