My rear pads were ready for replacement and I've been curious about the Uber bike polar-tech pads for a while.
I have a tendency for overheating my brakes on long steep descents when carrying the kids, it's no problem on my own as I just brake at the end of the hill. Apparently it's frowned upon doing 60kph with two kids on the back so I end up having to drag the brakes building heat. I've already upgraded to 220mm discs which helped but I l'm never happy.
So let's see how I go with these. Yeah I know they're unlikely to make a difference but they aren't any more expensive than premium brakes anyway so let's see.
First impressions are okay but they've only just beaded in, they don't seem to last any longer before overheating and not providing any effort but they seem to recover quickly and most of all the calipers seem to be cooler than before. The fins become incredibly hot and you can actually feel the heat radiating. Surely that has to be a good thing getting that heat out of the caliper?
Anyway I'll update below on a few weeks.
