When I started Bunch Bikes in 2017, I figured that the worst case scenario was no one would want to buy a bike like this in the U.S., and at least I could just keep the prototype for myself.

I got the first prototype 5 days before my son (our 2nd child) was born. And he's ridden in the bike almost every day since.

I can't imagine how our first few years of parenting would have been different without the bike.

More serendipity in our lives, lots of cool connections, seeing them catch on in town then one of our customers starting the bike bus at our kids' elementary school. And never needing to own a 2nd car.

If I knew how hard running a bike company would be, I probably never would have started it. (You don't know what you don't know!)

But what keeps me going through the challenges are seeing all the cool stories from our community. Seeing customers experience the #cargobikelife for the very first time. Seeing the lives changed.

So I figured I would start a thread here for sharing the interesting, inspirational, or fun stories from the Bunch Bikes community.

This one is a really special one.

It wasn't even on my mind in the beginning, but we've learned that many of our customers have children with special needs. Kids that have never been able to bike on their own.

This makes it hard for families who have multiple kids to do things like go on a family bike ride together. It often ends with one spouse having to stay home with the child who can't participate equally.

One common thing we hear from parents like this is the word "freedom". The bike provides them with a moment in time, where everyone is happy and participating together and having a good time.

Louie is a 4 year old bilateral amputee, and they've owned a Bunch Bike for a while now, and I never get tired of seeing how happy he is in the bike.
