I added a Trek Allant+ 8S for a lighter, faster option. Sizes S & M are still on a fantastic $2000 discount. I've got 999 miles on it and am very pleased. I did pay for an upgrade to a kiox display as my phone didn't fit in the bracket. A second battery kit that fits the GSD gen 2 battery is...
Wike has a couple DIY kits for $200 but you need to add materials. The complete cargo trailer is on sale for $280 instead of $380 right now. I highly recommend it. The wheels pop off for easy storage.
VT has a $400 -$800 incentive program for e-bikes, e-cargo bikes, and adaptive e-bikes. Unfortunately it is out of money. Some money may trickle back in from folks that did not complete their purchase within 60 days, or if some is added via the budget. When it had money, you could get a pre-paid...
Do you have the 2 batteries? I do, and have done a weekend bikepacking trip of 40 miles towing a trailer with a 45 pound dog. I did recharge at the campground, because I could, but according to the display I had enough juice to make it home without recharging. It was all in turbo and sport, with...
Innovative design, looks like it would work well. Not sure that wood was the best choice for material, they should consider a metal version to lighten it up.
I love my Abus Granit XPlus 540 U-Lock, but if you're someplace with a lot of bike theft (a lot of cities & college towns) or you have to leave it out all day at work, you might want one of the heavier, more expensive angle-grinder resistant models. The Abus locking mechanism is the smoothest of...

It fits under my helmet, even with a thin beanie, and makes a huge difference in a cold rain, sleet or snow. Easy to stash in a pocket.
My tip is to try swapping out your tires at home before you have to fix a flat on the road. This practice will give you confidence and make a flat, or the thought of one, less stressful. Tip 2 is to keep the spare tube in the box so it doesn't get damaged (add painters tape when it starts to...
I use Houdini lock spray occasionally and it has worked well. They say it even works at sub-zero temps. Abus doesn't recommend graphite. The Abus spray is also great but impossible to find in the U.S. and only came in a tiny can when I did find it.
I was glad to see the 93 mile Lamoille Valley rail trail in VT repaired after significant flood damage. While mostly recreational, it's getting a lot of people on bikes. https://vtdigger.org/2024/06/16/lamoille-rail-trail-quietly-reopened-in-year-since-historic-flooding/
