Hello all!

I biked in Seattle, WA in a number of ways (with my now-19-year-old!!) before getting cargo bikes.

We now have a Bike Friday Haul-a-Day (leg only/unassisted), built up the last Metrofiets, and have an Xtracycle RFA.

I now bike with my partner and 3rd-grader in Lynnwood, WA which is suburby and car/mall-oriented. Mostly we all ride our own bikes now, though we have racks and still take the cargo bikes for big shopping trips and family bike camping!

Happy to be here. Oh, I’m also a Captain Dashboard and happy to talk about cameras and doohickeys🤪

Welcome! It’s been awesome to see and hear from people like you who have been biking for years. It’s rare to hear that around my area Phx/Tempe. Look forwarding to hearing more

you have so many cool bikes! Metrofiets was 5 years ahead of its time :( I often think about them and CETMA wondering if they could have ever made the jump to electric with Shimano.

How do you like your bike Friday? They aren’t talked about enough elsewhere and someone just asked about a compact nonelectric cargo bike that can hold 2 kids!

Thanks! I wrote about our Metrofiets journey in a few posts here: https://fbaum.wordpress.com/2019/08/23/family-biking-tangerine-story/

And Hauly Golightly is such an excellent little big bike! I’ll write some more in the BF zone, but we did a few years of daily adventuring, along with some epic bike camping with her. I totally recommend the Haul-a-Day if someone is looking for a light, foot-powered bike that can carry some serious loads!
