Representing NZ’s second island ✅

I’m new to cargo bikes, and new to bike commute since starting a new job closer to home and in the city last year.

Not sure yet if it will entirely replace one of our cars (and it would be replacing our EV…), but I’m still happy to be picking up a more engaging way to travel.

Already found some interesting routes and seen some things I’d otherwise not encounter, and appreciating being able to chat with my young daughter in the front-cargo seat while riding.

Christchurch is very flat, but look, I found a tiny hill 😆

Welcome!

Christchurch seems like a pretty well regarded city for cargo bikes within NZ. A few used bikes pop up on TradeMe suggesting so 😅

Who did you purchase your R&M Carrie through? It looks like an awesome bike.

Did you try some other bikes during the shopping process? How did they compare?

Thanks!

Bought through Christchurch Electric Bicycles, I suspect they’re the only local dealer. Got it with WorkRide too, so it softens the financial hit significantly.

I tried a few Spicy Curry’s, and Tern GSD. Ended up with the Carrie, really appreciated being able to see and chat with my toddler while travelling.

Also, able to load up 30kg of dog food no problem! (I could probably squeeze in a third by standing them on their side) 😆
