I live in Chapel Hill, and am actually looking into Longtail or Bakfiets style bikes to enable my wife and I to do excursions, date nights, etc via bike instead of car
She never learned how to ride a bike, and doesn't foresee herself ever being capable of riding a bike around cars, so I'm exploring cargo bikes that can handle an adult passenger (plus giving me some flexible options for hauling stuff without the car, such as a dog or grocery haul).
If anyone knows of any shops in the area that are likely to have any cargo bikes available for test rides, let me know! I'm just starting the search for local test rides so we can see if she'd be more comfortable in a bakfiets or on a longtail, as well as seeing how each style of bike handles for my solo usage.
