    New secure parking option!

Those look great but were $10K+ each when I inquired and they didn't have a model long enough for a bakfiets or long tail. Do you know any US towns or cities where they have been successfully installed & operated?

    Trek?

I test rode both since they’re the only cargo bikes available locally. The Fetch+2 was a nice ride, similar to the Specialized Globe Haul. The Fetch+4 was a beast - and I’m usually fan of huge cargo bikes - but it felt a lot heavier and more cumbersome than an Urban Arrow Family. Both Treks...

Secure Bike Parking Hack For Apartment/Condo Folks

It’s a great hack if you can get away with it. I looked at getting a van to use as a bike storage unit, but the requirements here are that vehicles have to be inspected, registered, and insured. That made it way too expensive and complicated.

Using an Insta360 X4 on an Urban Arrow

How’d it do in the cold? I’ve given up on trying to record outdoors in winter since devices with batteries just lose their charge so fast that they’re useless. Winter temps here are typically around 20F with 20 mph winds. I’ve tried cameras from Insta360, GoPro, and various iPhones. All have...

    Best Aftermarket Double Kickstand?

Definitely get an Ursus Jumbo, Big Foot, or Hopper. The Hopper is all steel and typically an OEM part (it’s the standard on Workcycles bikes) that’s hard to find in the US. The Jumbo and Big Foot are available in retail packaging. I use the Jumbo on most of my bikes since it’s higher...

Urban Arrow Cargo L in the US?

I’m trying to figure out if it’s possible to get an Urban Arrow Cargo L flatbed in the US. The upright Dutch riding position is the best for me (I have wrist issues) and UA is the only company w that style in the US. (Both R&M and Bullit are too forward-leaning.) Is the UA Family the same bike...

    3D Printable Cargo Bike

Ooh I’ll have to add that one to my shelf of 3D printed cargo bikes!

    Frozen locks?

Any tips for keeping locks from freezing in really cold weather? Is there any winter lubricant folks use?

Coaster Cycles Venture Cargo Bike Sale

They still have four of them on their eBay store at the $1999 plus shipping ($500+): https://www.ebay.com/itm/387008991416

    Introducing myself and my product

Looking forward to seeing this ship! I still use my original Kickstarter Argo and get a lot of questions from folks about where they can get one. I noticed that the kickstand is still backwards - it folds to the front. Is there a reason it doesn’t fold to the back?

    Replacement for Tern GSD saddle

I use Selle Royal Ondina saddles on my bikes. Everything else has been over budget or hasn’t held up to year-round use on my bikes that live outdoors here on Cape Cod. They retail for $35 US but I often find them cheaper on eBay. Oddly, only the brown color is available in the US. For more...

Coaster Cycles Venture Cargo Bike Sale

Thanks for the info. Propel still has a demo model of this bike listed for $4595 (which seemed like a deal given the MSRP). I’d been looking at these as a potential bike for municipal public works folks to use around town. I didn’t get any buy-in due to the price tag. (I had looked at Urban...

Drink Holder for Handlebars - Recommendation

I have a Handle Stash on my Workcycles FR8. It’s great for a wide variety of cups and bottles. It’s handy for carrying random other stuff and a wine bottle fits, too. I also have a water bottle cage that velcros on to my handlebar stem. Can’t have too many cup holders! Photo: Origin8 cup...

    transporting 4x8 plywood?

I had to jump through lots of hoops to import the Hinterher. It was for my bike tour business at the time to move bikes around. (The pandemic killed that business, sadly.) Hinterher doesn’t even offer their web site in English any more since they are focused on the local market.

    transporting 4x8 plywood?

I have a gigantic trailer that could accommodate sheets of plywood, but riding with anything that wide and heavy can be challenging. I’ve moved couches and shelving units and tons of bikes with it. (The trailer is a Hinterher Bike Transporter 5 that I imported from Germany years ago; the US...
