The local Salvation Army is setting up a cycle recycling scheme. They have had a brand new workshop and store built. They had to rebuild their entrance because they had not designed it for my cargo trike although I had been using them for years when they were using their church by moving pews putting down plastic sheets and having tools in cupboards attached to the church walls
Cargo bike shops should be more common than car showrooms. Why aren’t they? Why is the transport and mobility ecosystem so skewed and damaged? It needs yellowstoning
It has been recognised that mega fauna- like elephants- are often missing from ecosystems but they are key indicators of ecosystem health
Are we understanding cargo cycles as the megafauna of mobility and transport ecosystems? The motor carriage is actually a niche species that easily becomes a pest or parasite
When looking for a cargo e bike, the maintenance and serviceability by a local bike shop was key in deciding which bike to get. It why we ended up with a Globe Haul. I have 4 shops within 5 miles of me that sell and service them. Also important to note I don’t own a car so that’s another reason.
I would have loved an Urban Arrow or similar but just don’t have any reliable shop to service or support them.
